He had been giving his teachers some grief in school and has fairly severe learning disabilities. Although he struggled academically, he always seemed to have a pretty girl on his arm.
Many times when I was on my way home from work, I would stop by his friend’s house, pick him up, so he could eat and ideally do his homework. Same routine for months, maybe a year.
So I got home after not being able to reach him, checking all of the suspect places. He wasn’t answering his phone. I went home mad and made myself something to eat.
It was getting late and still silence, so I go to his room to see if he left his cellphone in there. And it was! And so was he … DOING HIS HOMEWORK!!!!!
Now, he totally could have snuck in by doing the whole Ferris Buehler’s Day Off thing, but I saw actual evidence of work.
I stood there just shocked and asked why he didn’t tell me he was home. He said he was busy. And he kept going. I brought him food (feeling guilty for eating already).
Oddest day ever!http://bit.ly/2NWXWen
