In the Middle of Nowhere

Author Nathalie Fortune

I arrived at the end of the evening in the middle of nowhere, in the countryside … North of Dublin.

The battery of my phone was too weak to call my Irish friend and ask him to pick me up somewhere other than the place of appointment initially, a young woman seeing my confusion smiled at me and explained to me how to join the taxi company the nearest is 5 kilometers away, located in the nearest village. There was no other means of transport in sight. She was waiting for her husband, who was soon to arrive.

Then, after taking a leave of absence, a little sorry air climbed into a little van that had just arrived. The vehicle moves slowly away, stops a few moments and finally backs up. The door opens then the couple offers me to take me to my friend, the small detour does not bother them! I was crying. Thanks again to them I forgot their names but not their kindness.
