Black or White

Author Brigitte Gauthier

It was a dark day. I was crumbling and feeling sorry for myself. Sad, discouraged, I thought only of complaining.

Since I was at my mother’s house, I thought of talking to her about it. With an air of total discouragement, I told her that I was not well. She asked: “Why?

And there was the light! Suddenly, the black became white and I realized that I had just received a hugely important gift. The kind of gift that we unpack only when we are ready, whatever the situation. I realized that the dark vision I had held of my life was actually the packaging of a bright vision. I realized that I could move on, that nothing held me back.

Of course, my attitude knocked my mom off of her feet. All I could say was, “Thank you, everything is fine. “
