Living with people

Author Brigitte Gauthier

Thank you for bringing an adorable person to my place. Of course I placed an ad for a room to rent so it is normal for people to respond to the offer; and of course, all kinds of people responded.

There were desperate people who really need shelter for the night, people who had no money and wanted to live for free, people who wanted a room to mingle as little as possible with other tenants, people who didn’t want to participate in household chores, people who were sick and couldn’t live with others. There were people who though they were somehow entitled and who tried to establish theirown agendas, people who didn’t care about others – leaving their things hanging around all over the place including ignoring their own dirty dishes for others to clean.

Still others took things that didn’t belong to them, and lied as easy as they breathed, and did not think that I was aware of what they were doing. Some even stole my daughter’s sweets without replacing them, made off with my fancy dishes and as you can by now believe, left without paying.

Then Jonathan arrived.  He is positive and eager to integrate, an open book while at the same time, not imposing. He is generous and offers to share what he has. He laughs a lot, generally agrees with me … A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E.
